Who we are

VeganSpots (veganspots.cretezy.com) is a vegan place finder. The person responsible for the protection of personal information is the site operator, reachable at [email protected].

What we collect and why

Browsing: we don’t require an account. We use your approximate location from your IP address only to centre the map; it is not stored. Precise location is used in your browser only if you allow it, and is never sent to us.

Accounts (optional): your email address and display name, to sign you in and to keep your favourites, reviews and suggestions.

Reviews without an account: the name and email you provide. The name is shown with your review; the email is never shown and is used only to identify your review and to invite you to create an account.

Visit confirmations: your account, visit date, dish, requested changes and optional note. Meal details are published after moderation without your name. Updating replaces your previous confirmation for that place; deleting your account removes it.

Suggestions and reports: what you submit, and an optional email to tell you when a place is added.

Security: IP-based rate limiting and Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent spam.

Automated processing

Reviews, visit confirmations, reports and suggestions are checked by an AI system before publication or processing. An administrator can review any decision; contact us to request a human review.

Service providers

Email delivery (Resend), bot protection (Cloudflare), map tiles (OpenFreeMap), location search (Mapbox/Photon) and AI model providers process data on our behalf. Some may be located outside Québec.

Retention

Account data is kept until you delete your account. Guest emails are kept as long as the associated review exists. Security logs are kept for a limited time.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Signed-in users can export and delete everything from the account page. For anything else, write to [email protected].
